About Matthew Campbell

I Built the Label I Wished Had Existed When I Started.

I have spent more than 20 years obsessing over one question: why does wedding music so often fall short of the moment it is supposed to elevate?

Not because the DJs aren’t talented. Not because the couples don’t care. Nobody had ever built a serious, professional resource for the people responsible for the sound of one of the most important days in someone’s life.

That gap is why Wedding Hit Records exists. And closing it has been the work of my career.

How My Wedding Songs Started Everything

In 2017, I launched My Wedding Songs, a platform built to help engaged couples find the perfect soundtrack for their wedding day. What I expected to build was a resource. What I actually built was a window into one of the most

underserved audiences in the music industry.

Millions of couples came to the site looking for song ideas. But behind every couple was a DJ, a planner, a musician – a professional who was making those music decisions without any real infrastructure to support them. No dedicated publication. No professional library. No label.

My Wedding Songs became one of the most trusted wedding music platforms in the world, recognized by Feedspot and nominated for Las Vegas Wedding Awards, including Innovator of the Year and Music Vendor of the Year. But the more it grew, the clearer the real opportunity became.
Couples needed songs. Pros needed blueprints. Nobody was building the blueprints.

The Philosophy Behind the Label

I am not a believer in cookie-cutter anything – not playlists, not business strategies, not music resources that treat every wedding the same way.

Great wedding music is not about playing the hits. It is about reading a room, understanding the crowd, knowing what a moment needs before the moment arrives, and having the intelligence and confidence to deliver it. That requires trend awareness, generational fluency, performance strategy, and a professional library built from real data – not algorithms.

My philosophy is simple:
“I don’t give you more to do. I give you the power to do it better.”

That belief is the foundation of everything Wedding Hit Records produces. The Wedding MusicLetter, the Wedding Songs Podcast, the professional book library, and the consulting work I do directly with DJs, wedding pros, and independent artists.

Building the Label

Wedding Hit Records is the culmination of everything I have learned across 20+ years of studying what moves people on a dance floor and what builds sustainable, profitable wedding businesses.

Since launching the label, I have:

  • Published the Wedding MusicLetter every Wednesday since May 2022 – now read by 5,800+ wedding pros across the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK
  • Hosted 175+ episodes of the Wedding Songs Podcast – reaching 89,000+ downloads across 151 countries
  • Authored 8 professional wedding music books used by DJs and planners worldwide
  • Consulted directly with wedding DJ companies, wedding brands, and independent artists on music strategy, SEO, content marketing, and business growth

I built this from Las Vegas, the wedding capital of the world, which means I live and work at the center of the industry I am writing about every week.
